Sanitation for All

Thank you everyone for joining me on this journey of learning about sanitation. I hope everyone has benefitted from my blog posts as much as I have. It is true that sanitation for all is important, and that we should always go the extra mile to practise sanitation. I have definitely realised how much our lives would change with poor sanitation. For example, many diseases would spread, and we would not be able to enjoy using clean and spotless facilities.

As we all know, our houses are where we are the most. With that being said, we should always make sure that our houses are clean and sanitised. Here are a few places in our house that we should definitely go the extra mile to ensure its sanitation: KITCHEN Almost everything in the kitchen will end up in our stomach, so we should make sure that our kitchen is properly sanitised and that there are no food left out in the open. BEDROOM Almost half our lives are spent in our bedroom, where we sleep, play and do our work. Therefore, we should make sure that we clean our bedroom at least once a week, and ensure there's no dust or bugs that may cause us any harm. LIVING ROOM Although not as important as the ones mentioned above, we should also take care of the sanitation of our living room as it the place where guests frequently are. It is important that we make sure our guests feel welcomed, and that they leave healthy .

Dear everyone, It has come to my attention that not everyone is taking sanitation seriously. I find that very upsetting as sanitation is without a doubt in direct correlation with our health.  I've mentioned it in my previous posts, but I'll repeat it again: sanitation is important! It can ensure a healthy, disease-free life, give our country a good image, and allow us to enjoy clean and sanitised facilities.  Without sanitation, one would not be healthy. Therefore, I would like to urge everyone -through this letter- to think for the better of the society, and stay sanitised. We should also appreciate how our country strives for the best, and that includes how our sanitation system is excellent and efficient. Just look at how clean our streets are, how clear our rivers are, and how spotless our public facilities are! It's really something we should be proud of, and something we should definitely be apart of. I will be ending my letter here with one last word of ...

In my previous posts,  I have lightly tackled the importance of sanitation. Now, I will be talking about it more thoroughly, in hopes that everyone will truly understand how vital sanitation is. IMPORTANCE OF SANITATION: MAINTAINS HEALTH By ensuring that we live in a clean environment, we can prevent ourselves from being affected by diseases that are caused by lack of sanitation. For example, malaria, ringworm, typhoid and cholera. CLEAN FACILITIES If the government makes sure our public toilets, bus stops and other facilities are always sanitised, the citizens will feel grateful as they won't have to worry about using contaminated facilities which may pose a danger to their health.  GOOD IMAGE If tourists were to visit a country with poor sanitation, they would not be impressed. Lack of Sanitation in an area will definitely bring about some negative impacts. One of the most significant effects would be diseases and conditions caused by lack of sanitation.  Written below are some common examples: Waterborne diseases , which can contaminate drinking water Diseases transmitted by the  decal-oral route Stunted growth  in children Malnutrition , particularly in children Proper actions should be taken in order to resolve the increasingly worrying issue of the lack of sanitation in certain areas.

We all know how important our kitchen is. It consists of items that will potentially end up in our stomach. With that being said, we should always keep our kitchen squeaky clean and sanitised.  Here are four easy steps to sanitise our kitchen : Always scrub cutting boards with hot water and soap.  Rinse and dry it thoroughly. Never submerge it in a sink of water! Wood is extremely porous, so it will just soak up water, causing the cutting board to crack when it dries. Use  vinegar  to disinfect your cutting boards or counter top after use.  Vinegar is a good disinfectant and is effective against harmful bugs. It is especially good for people with chemical allergies.    Try hydrogen peroxide .  It is a pretty efficient bacteria killer. Sanitation  is defined as the conditions relating to  public health , especially the provision of clean drinking water and adequate sewage disposal.  It refers to  public health  conditions related to clean  drinking water  and adequate treatment and disposal of  human excreta  and  sewage .  Washing  your hands with soap and preventing  human contact with  feces  is part of sanitation. Sanitation system aims to protect human health by ensuring a clean environment that will prevent the  transmission of disease , especially through the  fecal-oral route .
